Sgt. Christian Camarillo said Yesenia Guadalupe Ramirez went shopping with Brandon Cuellar’s grandmother before being abducted from the apartment. He also said Ramirez was in contact with the other suspects before taking the baby from San Jose’s apartment on Monday. Camarillo said Ramirez, Baldomeo Sandoval and Jose Roman Portillo had been charged with kidnapping, kidnapping conspiracy, child abduction and home invasion, but that could change as the investigation continues. “We do not know if the three suspects will hold these four charges,” he said. April 27, 10:45 a.m. San Jose police released the names of three suspects arrested Wednesday in connection with the abduction of a 3-month-old baby from an apartment. Jose Roman Portillo, 28, Yesenia Guadalupe Ramirez, 43, and Baldomeo Sandoval, 37, are all residents of San Jose, the San Jose police department said. The baby, Brandon Cuellar, was abducted on Monday just before 1pm from an apartment in San Jose on Elm Street 1000, while his grandmother was unloading groceries from the car. At that time, the boy’s mother was at work. the father was excluded as a suspect, as he is currently incarcerated. Calling on the public to help find the child, police released a video Monday night showing a man entering the apartment and leaving with a baby carrier covered by a white blanket. According to the police, Portilo is the man who appears in the video that “illegally entered the house and kidnapped the baby”. Police obtained the video after visiting the neighborhood and asking neighbors to share surveillance footage. Ramirez drove the grandmother and child to do chores and shop for groceries before the abduction, police said. Ramirez’s statement allegedly changed during the investigation and interview process. Police did not comment on Sandoval’s involvement, other than that he was “an additional suspect in the case and was also arrested and interviewed”. San Jose police found the baby safe and sound on Tuesday, but have not commented on where he was found. “The victim was taken to a local hospital and reunited with his family,” police said. When police first announced the abduction on Tuesday morning, they said the child had been taken by a stranger. Police now say the early investigation suggests a link between the family and the suspects, ABC7 reported. San Jose police said they would share more information on specific charges later Wednesday.
