A 46-year-old man is facing charges following a bizarre incident outside the Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP detachment early Wednesday morning. RCMP say Trevor Michelin appeared at the RCMP detachment around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and spoke to an officer inside before leaving. A few minutes later, officers noticed Michelin sitting on the bonnet of a marked police cruiser parked in the lot and pulling on the car’s wiper blade. Officers warned Michelin to move away from the car and fixed the wiper blade, but Michelin grabbed the wiper blade a second time and one officer removed him from the hood of the car.
When officers were getting inside the car, Michelin grabbed the door of the cruiser and slammed it against one of the officers several times. The officer was uninjured but the wiper blade was damaged along with the windshield of the cruiser. Michelin was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and damage to property under $5,000 dollars.
