The video, which was released on social media, shows panicked passengers scattering in the departure lounge of Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv on Thursday. The Israeli Air Force Authority said a man was treated for injuries as he tried to escape over a luggage carousel. The Jewish press reported that during the family’s trip to the Golan Heights one of the children found and picked up a bomb they were planning to take home as a souvenir. When he showed up at the airport luggage check-in, security requested that the area be evacuated. Airport authorities said the family was allowed to board the flight after questioning by security personnel, who made it very clear. Israel, which has high levels of aviation security, clashed with Syria over the Golan Heights during the 1967 and 1973 wars.
