Hockey Canada gave Misa excellent status earlier this month to enter the draft a year earlier. Misa, 15, wins the OHL Cup with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA, where she won the OHL Cup MVP after a 20-point record, breaking the previous record set by Connor McDavid in 2012. The emergency rule was created in 2005, allowing players to apply to play in the CHL one year in advance. A team of Canadian Hockey officials evaluate each application. The five players who received the status of outstanding player in the OHL are John Tavares, Aaron Ekblad, Connor McDavid, Sean Day and Shane Wright. Joe Veleno is the only player in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League history to receive the award, while Connor Bedard is the only player in the Western Hockey League to win an outstanding position. The Oakville native, Ont. is suitable for the NHL 2025 draft.
