Lily Peters, the 10-year-old girl who prosecutors say was killed by a 14-year-old in Wisconsin, died of strangulation and blunt force injury, according to Chippewa County Medical Examiner.
Preliminary autopsy findings determined the cause of Peters’ death as homicide, CNN reported.
The 14-year-old suspect has been charged with premeditated homicide, first-degree sexual assault and first-degree sexual assault on a child under the age of 13, resulting in major bodily harm, according to prosecutor Wade Newell.
Newell cited the confessions of the suspect, who after his arrest on Tuesday said he had planned to “rape and kill the victim from the first moment he left the house with the victim going downhill”.

The 14-year-old boy “hit the victim in the stomach, hit her on the ground, actually strangled her, hit her with a stick before strangling her to death before then sexually assaulting her,” Newell said.
Officials said the boy left the same house as Lily on Sunday night, but did not confirm how they knew each other.
Supporting the need to protect the community, Newell called for the teen’s bond to be set at $ 1 million in cash. The judge agreed on the terms that the accused, identified only by the initials “CP-B”, has no contact with other minors or dangerous weapons.
In response to the bond, C. PB’s lawyer argued that the teenager was not in danger of fleeing.

“She can not drive. He is not able to raise a lot of money, honestly, not at all on his own. He lives with his mother. “He is a resident of Chippewa County,” said attorney Karl Schmidt.
The next hearing of the teenage suspect is scheduled for May 5, during which he will appear via video, according to CNN.
Lily’s body was found around 9 a.m. Monday, a few blocks from her aunt’s house near a footpath and a brewery parking lot. The night before, her father had reported her missing when she did not return home after a visit with her family.
Authorities searching for her found what appeared to be her abandoned bicycle along a wooded path. Her remains were found soon after.

Following Lily’s tragic death, Chippewa Falls residents launched a petition to improve the way authorities warn the public about missing children.
Proponents say there were no Amber Alert problems for Lily “because of the rules surrounding what her use is,” Fox News reported.
“We need something more,” wrote reporter Eric Henry. “Any parent would agree that when a child is missing, even for a short time and needs help, then help should be sent.”
Following the arrest of the juvenile suspect in Lily’s murder, a Reddit thread that may have played a role in his arrest made the rounds of the Internet.
In the thread, an anonymous poster wrote about a possible view of the 10-year-old girl “with another child”. When this poster went silent, a user undertook to notify the authorities of the possible advice.
Angela Osment called Chippewa Falls police from her home in Virginia, she told the Sun.
“This person is being placed on stage and could possibly be the last person to see Lily alive,” he said.
“We wanted to know who the person you saw was with? What was he wearing? How high? How old? “But then he did not answer. So I undertook to call the police,” said Osment.
