The 2007 cassette, shot when Kardashian and Ray J were out at the time, gave rise to what would become her family’s E! reality show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”. Kardashian said West retrieved the video not only for her but also for the four young children sharing. “I want to shield them as much as I can,” he said. “And if I had the power or if Kanye has the power to do it, that’s the most important thing to me. And I’m so emotional about it.” It all happened last year, before Kardashian presented “Saturday Night Live”, where she appeared with her best friend, cast member Pete Davidson. Their relationship apparently prompted West to share during an interview with “Hollywood Unlocked” in January that he had taken the rest of the footage for Kardashian, who filed for divorce from West in February 2021. “How are you going to bring me to SNL and kiss the guy in front of me?” said West during this interview. “And everyone says, ‘Oh, this is it, this is nice.’ [and] I got the laptop from Ray J that night, right? ‘ Kardashian was declared a legal single in March. In the reality show, West said he paid nothing for the rest of the tape, which said Kardashian contained no additional scenes of intimacy, only footage of her and Ray Ji being out of a club and restaurant.
