Katie Kenyon, 33, has not appeared since last Friday when she boarded a van in her hometown of Burnley. Police believe she was killed and are searching for her body. Andrew Burfield, 50, of Burnley, made a brief appearance in the Blackburn court charged with Kenyon’s murder. Berfield spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the three-minute hearing. He was remanded in custody until Friday, when he will appear in court in Preston. Kenyon, from Burnley Padiham, was last seen around 9.30am. last Friday, when he is believed to have traveled in a Ford Transit truck that left the city in the Bolton-by-Bowland area of Lancashire. On Wednesday, police raided the Gisburn Forest, a remote beauty spot in eastern Lancashire. More than 60 investigators from four police forces searched the dense forest area for Kenyon. The hunt was attended by police and firefighters, dog groups, cavalry police, mountain rescue volunteers and drones. Kenyon is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches, with strawberry / ginger blonde hair down to the shoulders. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt or jacket and a white vest, black leggings and flip flops. Her family, who say her disappearance is out of character, is backed by specially trained officers.
