The 33-year-old, from Padiham, was last seen getting into a silver Ford Transit truck on Burnley Todmorden Road on Friday morning. Andrew Berfield, 50, of Burnley Todmorden Road, is due to appear in Blackburn court on Thursday. Berfield was arrested for murder on Tuesday. More than 60 police officers from four police forces began searching a rural beauty spot in Lancashire on Tuesday as part of their investigation. The area of interest is the largest wooded area in the county, covering over 4.6 square miles, and is popular with walkers and cyclists. Lancashire Police said: “Katie’s family has been informed and continues to be supported by specially trained officers. “They are thankful for all the good news, but they have asked people to respect their privacy right now.”
