After consulting the Crown Prosecution Service, detectives this afternoon charged a man with the murder of the missing mother Katie Kenyon. Andrew Berfield, 50, of Burnley Todmorden Road, is due to appear in Blackburn Court at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, April 28). Katie’s family has been informed and continues to be supported by specially trained officers. They send their thanks for all the nice messages, but they have asked people to respect their privacy right now. The 33-year-old mother of two, from Padiham, was last seen around 9.30am. on Friday, April 22, when he is believed to have traveled in a Ford Transit truck that left Burnley for Bolton by Bowland.
