2022 3-Round NFL Mock Draft

How could the first round of the NFL 2022 draft in Las Vegas break out? Let’s start with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who take the defensive edge that is not from Michigan.

1) Jacksonville Jaguars: Travon Walker, DE, Georgia

Back on March 25, we were the first to analyze the story that Jaguar was thinking of choosing Travon Walker as the first draft pick. This story is now becoming a reality as Trent Baalke acquires his man.

2) Detroit Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

If Aidan Hutchinson is taken by the first choice, Travon Walker would be the chosen one here.

3) Houston Texans: Derek Stingley, CB, LSU

Another interesting battle. People think that this option could be Travon Walker if he falls to the Texans, but I keep hearing that Lovie Smith is pushing for Derek Stingley Jr.

4) New York Jets: Ikem Ekwonu, OL, NC State

Ahmad Gardner makes the most sense at this point. Jermaine Johnson must also be taken into account. But the word is that the Jets are in love with Ikem Ekwonu.

5) New York Giants: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

The Giants want the right tackle plug-and-play and Evan Neal could be just that.

6) Carolina Panthers: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

They said this would be the choice more than a month ago. The big question is, does Charles Cross make it this far?

7) New York Giants (from CHI): Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

Kayvon Thibodeaux will also take a serious interest in this point, but Ahmad Gardner may well be the choice.

8) Atlanta Falcons: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

The Falcons are in a position to pick the best player available and Kayvon Thibodeaux takes on the role as well as a big hole in the Atlanta depth chart.

9) Philadelphia Eagles (fake trade by SEA): Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

The ninth option will be in the game. New Orleans asked to go up for this option, but in the end, the Eagles get the option with all their draft capital. Philly donates one of its first players in 2023 to select Alabama Jameson Williams.

10) New York Jets (from SEA): Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio

The Jets will consider Jameson Williams at this point and many in the league continue to tell me that they will eventually move this option to Deebo Samuel. However, if no deal is made, Garrett Wilson could be their choice.

11) Washington Governors: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

If Washington does not choose Kyle Hamilton at this point, it could go too far.

12) Minnesota Vikings: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

Trent McDuffie is the player the Vikings want, although they may try to trade and select him.

13) Houston Texans (from CLE): Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida State

Trevor Penning should be considered, but Jermaine Johnson II makes a lot of sense after beating the Jets.

14) Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

The Ravens are in need of the home defense and no one in this draft is close to Jordan Davis.

15) Seattle Seahawks (fake trade from PHI): Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

Seattle could take Trevor Penning to No. 9 if they do not exchange.

16) New Orleans Saints (from IND via PHI): Chris Olave, WR, Ohio

The Saints need a receiver and Chris Olave is probably the most underrated in this year’s draft.

17) Los Angeles Chargers: Drake London, WR, USC

Drake London will not have to go far to play his professional ball. Zion Johnson or another inside-line striker will be considered at this point, as will Jordan Davis if available.

18) Philadelphia Eagles (from NO): Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

Devin Lloyd is the player with the three downs that the Eagles desperately need.

19) New Orleans Saints (from PHI): Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

The Saints would like to exchange, but without a left tackle on the board yet, they choose their future general to Kenny Pickett.

20) Pittsburgh Steelers: Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

The biggest surprise at this point would be for the Steelers to pass Malik Willis if he is available.

21) New England Patriots: Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College

Zion Johnson is a flexible blocker in his homeland who can start from a guard and develop into a center.

22) Green Bay Packers (from LV): Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

Not many teams have a first-round score in the Treylon Burks, but the Packers seem to love him. They could take Kenyon Green at this point and then go with Alec Pierce in Round 2.

23) Arizona Cardinals: Kenyon Green, OL, Texas A&M

Pass rusher is a possibility here and Logan Hall could be the surprise choice. However, the Cardinals may choose to strengthen the offensive line with Kenyon Green.

24) Dallas Cowboys: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

Boye Mafe would be a thought, but George Karlaftis fits in better with Dan Quinn’s system.

25) Buffalo Bills: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

The bills could go in many directions here. Tyler Smith could be the surprise pick at No. 25, but Kyler Gordon is also a pick.

26) Tennessee Titans: Tyler Smith, OL, Tulsa

They could get Jahan Dotson at this point, but Tyler Smith meets a need on the offensive line and can play guard or right tackle.

27) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Daxton Hill, DB, Michigan

With Todd Bowles now head coach, the Bucs turn to the side and select Daxton Hill, a player they believe can line up on the corner or in safety.

28) Seattle Seahawks (mock trade from GB): Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati

I first mentioned on Saturday that the Seahawks would trade back at the end of Round 1 for a quarterback, and that belief has resonated louder in the league ever since. To climb 10 places and select Desmond Ridder, Seattle delivers the 41st option and a quarter-rounder.

29) Kansas City Chiefs: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Jahan Dotson is a charismatic player who brings speed to the Chiefs’s reception room. Kansas City could make a surprise and choose Jalen Petr, whom they consider as their future Henny Badger.

30) Kansas City Chiefs: Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota

Leaders are in need and I have documented Brett Weitz’s affection for Boy Mafe.

31) Cincinnati Bengals: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

Tyler Linderbaum will pay attention to this point, but Kaiir Elam takes his place on the field.

32) Detroit Lions (from LAR): Lewis Cine, S, Georgia

Detroit could get a general at this point to lock in the fifth year option. However, if they do not, Lewis Cine could be their type.
