The change coincides with the official launch of ICBC online insurance renewals. Under the new model, drivers can renew their contract online for up to 44 days before it expires. ICBC says about 3,000 people have already used the new method. Most single owner vehicles that do not make any changes to their insurance coverage are eligible for renewal online. Autoplan brokers will still be required to check each renewal and will continue to pay the same amount for an insurance policy renewal, whether done online or in person.
