A 43-year-old man died on the spot shortly afterwards and a woman, also 40 years old, is being treated in critical but stable condition in the hospital. At around 3.50am on Thursday morning, a 17-year-old boy from Ipswich was also arrested on suspicion of murder in the city and taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Center for questioning. An autopsy on the victim’s body was carried out by the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday afternoon and it was found that multiple knife wounds were the cause of death. Detectives are treating his death as a murder. Pending a formal forensic examination, police have temporarily identified the deceased as Karl Skoulding, 43, of Bury St Edmunds. His relatives have been informed. At Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, detectives filed an arrest warrant for the 38-year-old and he was given an additional 31 hours to question the suspect.
