National Vaccination Awareness Week April 27, 2022 | 2:41 p.m. Alberta Health Services (AHS) recognizes National Vaccine Awareness Week, reminding Alberts to keep their vaccinations up to date. COVID-19 and influenza vaccines are among the best known. However, there are many other diseases that can be prevented with vaccines, and both children and adults need protection – and vaccination can provide that protection. By following a routine vaccination program, you and your child will be vaccinated against the disease at the safest and most effective ages and stages. This means that you and your child will have the maximum possible protection. AHS provides free, regular immunizations for infants and children living in Alberta. However, vaccination is not just for children – it is a lifelong process. Adults should also be immunized against diseases that can be prevented with a vaccine.
