Officials say police were called to the scene of the attack on Block 600 on Center Street at about 11:00 p.m. on March 29. The victim, identified as vulnerable Calgarian, suffered rib and face injuries that required medical attention. Corbin Maverick Riley, 21, and John Segovia Calderon, 21, have both been charged with aggravated assault. Police say the nature of the attack prompted investigators to characterize it as a hate-motivated attack. The appearances of the two men in court are not immediately known.
