Officers were called to Valley Farm Road and Finch Avenue to disrupt a large rally shortly after 4 p.m.
Police said they heard a gunshot as they responded to the incident. When they arrived at the scene, police located a wounded man.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was taken to a Toronto hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they have no suspicious information at this time.
