Suffolk police were called to report a knife at Harland Court outside Station Hill at 3 p.m. The man was found dead at the scene and a woman, also 40 years old, has been taken to hospital, where she is being treated in critical but stable condition. Police have arrested a 38-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds on suspicion of murder after he was arrested by police near St John’s Street and is being questioned. All witnesses or persons in the area between 14:00 and 15:00 on Tuesday are kindly requested to call the Grand Investigation Team at 101 or the Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
